3.24.10 – Timewarp / Live Shots

Hello, hello. Sorry it’s been a while again. You know how it goes, laziness takes over. But anyway, I’ve realized that I really want to improve my voice and be in a band. Any takers?

Speaking of bands, shows, and things of that nature! My friend Auburn and I have decided to work together on her website. I’m basically her photographer now. Soon we will start going to local shows here in the glorious Asheville, NC and review them. Check out the site at Amplified Reviews. There are many CD review you can look at! Can you dig it?

Alrighty, well here are some older photos of live shows I’ve taken. I’d love feedback, be as critical as you want. Also, I am always wanting to try something new, whether it be taking MySpace photos for a local band or taking promo shots. 2.25.10 – #2

Hello again! So, this is the second post of today, seeing as I posted the prior one earlier this morning.

Headshots! Never done them. A friend here at school, Erin, asked me to do her head shots a few weeks ago. I really hadn’t had the time to until today, and I am pretty happy with the results seeing as I had no idea what I was doing and all I really had were a couple desk lamps, a tripod, masking tape, a bed sheet, and a chair. As we all said, it was a ghetto set up. But hey, what can a college student do?

So, I’m sorry it’s been a while Blog. But, I have been busy, lazy, and nothing fun has really happened with me til last Thursday night. So, here’s the story: here at good ol’ UNCA, we had a few bands play and I was a photo taking machine. Literally. I was  by the stage constantly taking photos and videos. It was crazy. So, I hope all the pictures make up for the last time I didn’t take photos of Holy Ghost Tent Revival at Warren Wilson. Also in the mix is John Wilkes Booth and the Black Tooth and Now You See Them. They were all great as usual, and if you ever have the chance to see any of them – take that chance. You’ll fully enjoy your time. They are all made up of not only great musicians, but great people. I will post some videos I recorded later. Keep in mind that I’m still learning how to deal with various lighting situations, so some of these may not be so great. Without further ado;

2.3.10 – Timewarp #2

Hello! I’ve been busy with college, you know. It happens. It’s so cold outside, I hope it snows again. Here’s another timewarp post, this time with some older film shots.

1.21.10 – Timewarp #1

So, today was cold and rainy. My only class, French, was okay, besides the fact that I was completely lost when talking about family trees and forgot the ever so important pronouns on the quiz. Thank you Spanish class for helping me get confused between the differences of the two. I also built up the courage to try out for the All Girl Staff, an acapella group on campus. It’s really hard to control what I do went I’m overly excited and nervous at the same time. Let’s just say there was a lot of random jumping, fidgeting, and occasional laughter. Not the mention my voice being pretty shaky. But it happens, I tried and it was fun. Maybe I’ll get in, maybe not. There is always next year!

Now to the good part! The real reason for this blog.  I’ve decided to incorporate posts with older photos I have taken. I’ll number each of these posts accordingly, with sets of 6 photos in them at a time.  Here’s the first batch! These are mainly from the summer and towards the beginning of the school year. Enjoy.

So, the other day I went on a photo walk with my friend Hanna. It’s been a long time coming since the last time I took some decent photos, so I thought it’d be a good thing to restart that up as soon as I could. Starting the new year out right! (Sorta.)
