Hello again! So, this is the second post of today, seeing as I posted the prior one earlier this morning.
Headshots! Never done them. A friend here at school, Erin, asked me to do her head shots a few weeks ago. I really hadn’t had the time to until today, and I am pretty happy with the results seeing as I had no idea what I was doing and all I really had were a couple desk lamps, a tripod, masking tape, a bed sheet, and a chair. As we all said, it was a ghetto set up. But hey, what can a college student do?
Oh yeah. I know what your thinking – it’s AWESOME. Here’s some of my favorites I took today. Also – special thanks to my roommate Jamie for helping me with the little things and Erin for being so patient.

very nice. I am also in the dorms, and I am about to do some portraits of willing friends. I am glad to stumble upon this makeshift bed sheet idea!
awesome! i hope it helps a little
a note: try not to use lamps with a color, like my pink one (unless you want this effect), as you can see there is a tint of pink on these…
I’m not sure what the purpose of the head shots was, so if I misinterpret that please forgive me.
The only one that would not get thrown away immediately by an agent or casting person is #3. It’s not the lighting. None of the other expressions look relaxed or sufficiently natural, and all smiles must display the teeth fully enough that there won’t be any surprises at an audition.
That was my favorite too, because of her smile. Thank you for the information, I’ll be sure to let her know your opinion. I’ll also be sure to keep that in mind the next time I take head shots…I really didn’t think about that too much because of my nervousness, and when I looked them over it didn’t strike me. Thank you again for letting me know!
